Elżbieta Kwiatkowska

Dancer,   prima ballerina of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. She graduated   from the Gdańsk Ballet School (1983); from the beginning of her career in the   Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. In 1986 she became a soloist and one year later – a   first soloist                                                                        In 1989 she was awarded the 1st   level Wyspiański Artistic Award for Youth. She also received the Woizikovsky   Medal (1994) awarded every year for the most talented young Polish dancer.   She played leading roles of classical and contemporary repertoire. She was   the only to play the leading part in a Warsaw’s production of Carmen by Mats Ek. Emil Wesołowski created   leading parts in The Rite of Spring,   Returning Waves, The Miraculous Mandarin especially for her after which   she received the title of prima ballerina in 2000. She took part in   performances of the Warsaw’s ballet abroad, among others she danced   Odette-Odile in Swan Lake on a tour   in France, the title part and Mirta in Giselle   performed on a visit to the USA. She also performed the role of Mirta,   together with the Teatr Wielki’s ballet, in prestigious presentations in   Spain, in the monastery courtyard of The Escorial and in the courtyard of The   Royal Palace in Madrid. She finished her career in 2006.


Most   important parts: Odette-Odile (Swan Lake), title part and   Mirta (Giselle), Kitri (Don Quixote), Lilac Fairy and Fairy of   Sapphires (The Sleeping Beauty), Snow Queen (The Nutcracker),   Fairy (Cinderella), La Sylphide (The Graduation Ball), Soledat   (Afternoon Siesta), Potiphar's Wife (The Legend of Joseph), Mrs   T. (Jeux), Metella (A Brazilian in Paris), the Chosen One (The   Rite of Spring), Woman (Returning Waves), Girl (The Miraculous   Mandarin), solo parts in Don Juan Variations by Béjart, After   Eden by Butler, Miłość i ból i świat i marzenie by Neumeier, in Adagio   by Hammerklavier, Three   Pieces and Bits and Pieces by van Manen, Dies irae by   Wesołowski, Third Symphony by   Pastor, Rossiniana by   Fodor and Nienasycenie by   Rudnicka.
