Przemek Kamiński (b. 1989) is a Polish dancer, performer and choreographer.
In 2016, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, Context, Choreography at HZT Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin, where he studied, amongst others, with Simone Aughterlony, Laurent Chetouane, Jeanine Durning, Florian Feigl, Frederic Gies, Eva Meyer-Keller, Martin Nachbar, Sandra Noeth, Peter Pleyer, Constanze Schellow, Litó Walkey and Siegmar Zacharias.
In 2010, he completed a 2-year Qualification Course (Contemporary Dance) at the National Culture Centre affiliated with Mazovia Institute of Culture in Warsaw, receivinga diploma honoured by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
He has participated in many artistic and residency projects including: Research Academy: Moving through Words (University of the Arts, Zurich) led by Scott deLahunta and Karin Harrasser; XXI CSAV – Artists Research Laboratory (Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como) with visiting professors Yvonne Rainer and Andrea Kleine; Choreographic Laboratory: Borderbodies with Meg Stuart (Tanzwerkstatt, Munich); master class workshops Dance and dramaturgy with Guy Cools (an Institute of Music and Dance project, implemented in collaboration with Reso – Dance Network Switzerland and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia) andDramaturgical Forum with Christine de Smedt, an Institute of Music and Dance project devoted to the modes of dramaturgical work in a group environment.
In 2013, he received a student exchange programme scholarship to take part in the Intensive Course at SNDO School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam; in 2012 he was a recipient of a scholarship from the Art Stations Foundation’s Alternative Dance Academy in Poznań. He has been awarded several grants, amongst others from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Institute of Music and Dance, the International Visegrad Fund and Kunstlerhaus Lukas.
He works at the intersection of the contexts of performing and visual arts. He is interested in choreography as an expanded practice, which unfolds into variety of formats and media. His works were presented, amongst others at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Jan Tarsin City Art Gallery in Kalisz, Labirynt Gallery in Lublin, Art Stations Foundation in Poznań, Art Museum in Łódź, Hamburger Bahnhof Museum fur Gegenwart in Berlin, PQ Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space in Prague, Malta Festival in Poznań or Uferstudios in Berlin.
Since 2014, he has regularly collaborated (as a performer, rehearsal director) with the German choreographer Isabelle Schad, including in such projects as Der Bau – Gruppe (2014), Collective Jumps (2014) and Pieces and Elements (2016). He has also performed in the works by Juan Dominguez Rojo, Krzysztof Garbaczewski, Nicole Seiler, Kirstine Kyhl Andersen, Harakiri Farmers (Dominika Knapik, Wojciech Klimczyk), Julian Weber, among others.
