Hygin Delimat is a choreographer and performer born in Wrocław and active at numerous stages of Central Europe. The founder of Body Architects, he graduated in Contemporary Dance, Movement Research, and Dance Pedagogy from the Anton Bruckner University in Linz. In 2013, he was selected for the danceWEB scholarship programme. As a dancer, he has performed for Elio Gervasi, Georg Blaschke, Willy Dorner, Liv O’Donoghue, Johanna Roggan, and Robert Clark, among others. Since 2011, Hygin has been developing his own choreographic pieces. A resident at a number of European venues (Klub Żak in Gdańsk, Derida Dance Center in Sofia, Michael Douglas Collective in Cologne, RedSapata Tanzfabrik in Linz, O Espaco Do Tempo Montemor-O-Novo in Portugal, Komuna//Warszawa in Warsaw, 32 Degrees East in Kampala), he has choreographed works for Aura Dance Theatre Lithuania, architekturforum oberoesterreich Linz, and Hannes Kerschbaumer. Deeply involved in multidisciplinarity, Hygin collaborates with artists from various fields including contemporary composition, visual arts, or new media. In his artistic research as a mover, he draws inspiration from street art forms (breakdance, hip-hop, electronic music, tricking, parkour) and uses a methodology based on an in-depth movement research and development of original artistic practices.
