Beata Mysiak (formerly: Pałka) − dancer. Graduated in food technology and human nutrition (specialisation biotechnology and biochemistry of nutrition) from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. A contemporary dance instructor – she has completed a qualification course in contemporary dance organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, National Centre for Culture (NCK) 2010.
In 1988–1997 she was a member of Artistic Group for Children “Uśmiech” at the Provincial Community Centre in Rzeszów. Subsequently (1997–2001), she was a dancer of Dance Theatre “System Ruchu” run by Marta Bury in Rzeszów. Several years later, thanks to this experience, she was invited to participate in Mocando choreographed by Marta Bury in Gesture Theatre (Teatr Gestu) in Rzeszów.
Since 2001 she has danced in the Contemporary Dance Group at the Lublin University of Technology (GTWPL), taking part in such performances as 16 Asymptota (2003), piejo, dziobio, gdaczo... (2005) choreographed by Hanna Strzemiecka; continue (2006), clear/n (2008) stadium. etap I (2008) and opium choreographed by Anna Żak, as well as Hydrogen Bond (2008) choreographed by Sosana Marcelino.
In 2004 Mysiak joined the Lublin Dance Theatre and she took part in the following performances: Akrobaci, kwiaty i księżyc pomiędzy (premiere: 2002, in cast since 2005) plepleJAdy (2004), Snooker (2005) choreographed by Hanna Strzemiecka (2005); i znów, i jeszcze raz (2006), 48/4 (2007), endo (2009) and nano (2011) choreographed by Ryszard Kalinowski; Knut Hamsun’s Hunger (2010) by Ryszard Kalinowski and Łukasz Witt-Michałowski for Premieres Stage inVitro.
In 2010 she created her first own performance mono which had its premiere as part of Stage for Debuts at Contact Zone Festival in Kalisz (2010).
Since 2005 she has been employed in the Lublin Dance Theatre (Centre for Culture in Lublin) as an instructor/dancer. She has collaborated on organization of the International Dance Theatres Festival and Contemporary Dance Forum, International Dance Day, National Contemporary Dance Workshops. As a dance teacher, she has regularly run the Open Dance and Conditioning Workshops of the Centre for Culture in Lublin.
She has taken part in many contemporary dance workshops and participated in many festivals in Poland and abroad (France, Spain, Germany, Norway, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania).
In 2010–2011 she participated in a project for young choreographers – Leonardo da Vinci “Tour d'Europe des Choreographes”.
